Ontario is introducing new measures to protect the health of people receiving social assistance and the frontline staff who deliver services to them.

On a temporary basis, clients will not be required to provide written documentation to their case worker.

Special Olympics Ontario

In consultation with local and provincial health authorities and Special Olympics programs across Canada, please be advised that Special Olympics Ontario is continuing its directive that all local sport programs, competitions, fundraisers and related activities continue to be suspended until April 30, 2020.

We will continue to monitor and evaluate the status of the pandemic on a month-to-month basis and advise you on or before April 30th regarding the future status of our programs.

Special Olympics Ontario staff are hard at work on a number of initiatives focused on keeping athletes, volunteers and partners active, connected, informed and positive through this very difficult time.

It is still very important to take care of our minds and bodies while we are stuck at home. It is okay to snack more often or eat comfort foods, but we should also try to fill half our plates with fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water! When we fuel our bodies with healthy foods, it can help make our minds and bodies feel better. Stay healthy everyone!
